My brother has programmed a very nice heat sink calculator based on formulas from Fischer Elektronik catalogue and we would like to share it with you.
The heat sink calculator is very useful when you are choosing power transistors, heat sink etc. for your project. The heat sink calculator is easy to use, enter the parameters except the one you want to calculate and then press calculate (see example below).
Updated! My brother's program are featured in the Elektor February 2010 edition in the article "Tailored Cooling (online help for dimensioning)" and are referred to as "...small but very handy" :-)
