My design are inspired by Lesha's DAC and below you can see some pictures of my design in my brother Bjarne's version (click on the picture to enlarge it). If you want to build the DAC take a look at this diyaudio.com thread, tube-lover has made a complete kit quite similar to my design.

Testing the DAC on my dining table 1 (very dark picture).

Close-up on the two digital to analog converter TDA1541A hidden behind heatsinks. I have updated the DAC with 28 NX Hi-Q 0,47uF/50V black gate capacitors. PCB file updated 2003.12.31.
Old S/Pdif interface. PCB file updated 2003.12.31.
New S/Pdif interface now with reclock circuit and improved PLL filter (schematic not made yet).
Important! Remember to remove jumper J1 and J2, when not using reclock.
PCB file updated 2005.04.10.
Power supply. PCB file updated 2003.12.31.
16F84A PIC computer control board. PCB file updated 2003.12.31.
6C45π tube output buffer. PCB file updated 2003.12.31.
Input/output stage with 3 Toslink and 3 coax S/PDIF input. PCB file updated 2003.12.31.
The three transformers:
2x6VAC 15VA for PIC pcb and tube filament
2x18VAC 30VA for ±18V DC and 2x15V stepup
2x15VAC 30VA stepup for tube high voltage
